Spring break! Yay! I hope you all have a fabulous, enjoyable time! There is no homework due the day after spring break. I want you to enjoy your friends, family, and time off.

Important upcoming dates:
May 21: Physics field trip to Cedar Point
May 24, 28, and 29: Senior exams
May 31 and June 3 & 4: Junior exams

This Week in AP Physics:
On Wednesday your unit 16 packet is due, and we will do Q & A over the unit while in class on Wednesday. Other than that, we will review for the exams!
AP Physics 1 exam: May 7
AP Physics 2 exam: May 10
Class celebration and pinewood derby project begins: May 13

This Week in Physics:
By Tuesday, April 30 please take notes on video 2 (electric force) from unit 7. As the week progresses you will also likely need to take notes on video 3 (electric fields) as announced.

For fun: Sharks travel over spring break, too! Check out this shark tracker to find out where they are.

Week of April 15, 2019

This week before spring break has special bell schedules on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for state testing and then the talent show. Our progress will be a smidge more limited than usual, but we’ll get through!

This Week in AP Physics
We will finish interference with
practice problems and a lab and a lab and practice problems. The fringe benefits of this unit will be that we get to play with lasers! We will also get those ray diagrams for lenses and mirrors taken care of so that the topic is nice and in focus.

This Week in Physics
Your SLO exam is Monday and covers units 1-6. Be sure to use the learning goal sets under each unit webpage as your study guides. Then we will continue to move through unit 7 with
assignment 1. When assigned please take notes on video 2 (electric force).

Week of April 8, 2019

This week we have reduced class time on Thursday and Friday due to state testing for 9th and 10th grade ELA.

This Week in AP Physics
We will finish unit 13 on wave motion and sound by doing
homework 3 and packet 1 (due Monday) and homework 4 (not due Monday because I’m mean but not cruel, lol), packet 2, and a swell experiment, Standing Waves in Closed-Ended Tubes. Our unit 13 mock test will be Wednesday. By Thursday we will dive into physical optics, unit 14. Be sure to continue to work through the unit 16 material. If you wait, you will cram, and you will have difficulty encoding it cognitively. Boo cognitive encoding difficulty!

This Week in Physics
We will spend part of the week preparing for the SLO exam that will take place on Monday, April 15. Then we will dive into electrostatics. When announced please take notes on electrostatics video 1,
Introduction to Electrostatics, Conductors, Insulators, and Methods of Charging (Friction, Conduction, Induction, and Polarization)
