Week of October 14, 2019

This is the second-to-last week in the first quarter. All missing work (other than work due to absences that take place between this week and next) is due on Friday, October 18 if you would like to receive late credit.

On Wednesday we will not have class together due to PSAT testing.

Fun fact: The Nobel Prize in Physics 2019 was awarded this past week!

This Week in AP Physics
We will continue to work (pun intended) with the concept of energy and will cover the work-energy theorem and conservation of mechanical energy. Expect AP workbook pages, some tremendously great problems, and a lab over the
Work-Energy Theorem. A formal lab report for this lab will be due one week after we complete it. (Remember to use the Lab Report Writing Guide and Lab Report Rubric when writing your report.) Finally, corrections for your unit 3 test are due on Thursday, October 17.

This Week in Physics
Third period: On Monday we will go over vector resolution to prepare for a quiz on Tuesday.
Video 3 and video 4 from unit 2 will be due as announced. We will go outside to do a lab if the weather permits. By the end of the week we *may* begin assignment 3 from unit 3.
Eleventh period: On Monday we will go over
assignment 1 from unit 3 and will work in a couple of extra vector addition practice problems so that you will be ready to take a quiz over vector addition on Tuesday. By Tuesday be sure to have taken notes over video 2 from unit 2. We will begin to cover this on Monday and will complete assignment 2 plus additional practice problems. Watch for a quiz over vector resolution to be announced for Thursday. By the date announced in class please be sure to take notes over video 3 and video 4 from unit 2.
