This wind map is amazing.
This is one of my absolute FAVORITE sites. It’s an unbelievable look at the scale of our universe. Scroll in to the smallest string, and scroll out to the size of the universe itself. AMAZING!
Who doesn’t love the beautiful images from the Hubble Space Telescope? From NASA…“Hubble is a telescope that orbits Earth. Its position above the atmosphere, which distorts and blocks the light that reaches our planet, gives it a view of the universe that typically far surpasses that of ground-based telescopes.Hubble is one of NASA’s most successful and long-lasting science missions. It has beamed hundreds of thousands of images back to Earth, shedding light on many of the great mysteries of astronomy. Its gaze has helped determine the age of the universe, the identity of quasars, and the existence of dark energy.” Click the image to go to the Hubble picture gallery. (Be sure to search to find out about how the colors of the objects appear.)
For more outer-spacey awesomeness, check out this montage of nighttime views of Earth from the International Space Station. RIDICULOUS!! 🙂
